Okay so I used a different USB 2.0 pen stick just to check if the other one was wrong or not working. No luck. Still get the red screen incompatible software aborting message etc. Absolutely no idea why and I've tried everything so I give up! 🤷‍♂️

No need. I found what the problem was. My pen USB stick was not formatted correctly. Reformatted correctly and update now in progress! Phew. Thanks for your help. 👍

Thank you to Ticking-Fox for the update instructions. We used an SD-card rather than a USB, but it worked just the same and just as described. Our new map data card works just fine in our 2017 Vitara. Very grateful!

Hi.
New to the forum.
And just checked my 2016 Suzuki Vitara SZ5 for the software version and it shows 0830_150803.
can this be updated to version 1890 ? Which I believe is the latest version. Looking through this thread l presume it can be done with either a usb stick or SD card ? And where is the best place to download the latest firmware ?
I have just brought a new 2021 Map Card so wanted the newest firmware.

Yes you should be able to go to 1890 which I believe is the latest and best version.
This thread contains links to the files required.
SD card seems to be the best option.
Go read the thread. All the information is there. You need to follow the instructions exactly and be patient when doing the update.

Thanks for that ! The only thing that worried me was I could not find a version that started 0830, I presume it must be an early version. I don’t think the garage ever checked or updated it !!

I got this one yesterday. It also works well. But I can't read the files on my computer. It asks me to format the SD card. I can read the previous two without any problems (2019 and 2020). They came to me from UK, and this one, 2022 is from Latvia, EU. No taxes and customs.

Does anyone know if CarPlay will still continue working with this latest version for EU? As in my case, CarPlay is very unstable in the old version of the software.

I updated mine recently and it works fine, however I find using google maps via Carplay is much more user friendly (Just incase you haven't tried it).

does it still work with CarPlay then ? As I want to avoid that I upgrade and then I some thing s that somehow work now ,stop working

I upgraded to 1890 from 1870, and CarPlay seems as temperamental as before. Sometimes it will connect every time, sometimes it can take days before it connects again, even using an official Apple cable.

tks for the answer ... yep indeed I tried the 1880 and CarPlay completely stop working on the 1st try. Then I tried for the 2nd time and the infotainment system crashed. Last Friday I installed the 1890 and it has been working flawlessly. Not looking forward for the hectic days as you said 😅 ...

Having said that, I’ve just cleaned 11 months’ worth of pocket fluff out of the lightning port of my iPhone 13 Pro Max and tried again, and it worked every time I tried, so that may have been a contributing factor too! 😄

Mine is very dodgy but seems to help if you plug it in after the suzuki screen when the 4 rectangles show.

Well even after updating to 1890 it’s started to completely ignore my phone again, so it’s going into Suzuki this week, who can hopefully sort it once and for all…
