I have a S-Cross 2023 and the 7” head unit. That is running the software version 63T1.01.06 ( the latest now (2024-11)).
But it stops working after a number of KM, and is somewhat useless as I cannot trust it.
The phone is a Moto g 5G Plus (2020).
Swapped cables but did not help.
The question is it the Software or hardware problem, is wireless dongle a option?

Or is it a phone problem.. Try with a different phone before assuming its a head unit problem

Try replacing the cable from the back of the headunit to the port on the dash, they have been known to give trouble. There's been quite a bit of discussion on the forums on these failures, it's not unique to AndroidAuto, it happens with Apple CarPlay as well, and Suzuki dealerships have taken serious flack, in my opinion, unfairly, in the last few years, I've driven over a dozen different vehicles, and used AndroidAuto, every time I've had trouble, with one exception, it has been the cable, the one exception the head unit screen failed - that car, interestingly enough had wireless AndroidAuto.

If your vehicle doesn't support wireless AndroidAuto, use only short, high quality cables, the problem is electrical noise corrupting the data transmission.

The problem with wireless AndroidAuto (or CarPlay) is that on a long journey, you'll end up with a dead phone battery, so unless your car also has wireless charging, you're going to need the cable.
