Low batteries in the fob?

 

Brand new duracell. Strange bit is that it's allowing the ignition lights, you can even hear the fuel pump but just not allowing the starter to turn

 

I don't think that is a fob/immobilizer issue - what the immobilizer usually does is inhibit fuel injection & ignition so the car will crank and not fire - for a no crank situation, investigate the starter circuits.

 

 

I spoke with the local suzuki dealer and was told to bump start it and take it in to reprogram the keyfob. Is this something that can be done without a key?

 

IF the problem is the programming of the keyfob, then no - but as I said earlier - it doesn't sound like an immobilizer issue, so if it's a manual transmission, it might work.

That said - as far as I'm aware - you cannot reprogram a fob without having at least one key present and in the ignition switch at the time the fob is being programmed.

 

Provided you have spark and fuel, a manual can be bump started
