How many litres of engine oil do i purchase

Hi All,

Will be taking my Vitara to local garage to get oil and filter change, how many litres of engine oil do i purchase....4 litres? opting for Castrol Magnetic 5w30.

I see a lot of members use K&N oil filters but cannot seem to get these in UK, most popular brand is Fram but will not purchase as feedback on this forum is not good, thinking of buying solid auto, anyone heard of these or MANN filters.

Without knowing what engine you have in that Vitara, all we can do is guess ...

The capacity is clearly mentioned in your owner's manual, have a peek. As for filters, my parts guy recommends Wix brand, no idea if they are available on you side of the pond

The manual I have says 4.5 litres for the 1.6 - but that's for the G16b used in the 98~05 models - I'm not certain which engine you have.
