Hi all, I am referring to the Vitara 1996 H20a V6 2.0, South African version.

The revs are just about above 1000 revs (1200+-), tps was on .60, on closed throttle. (engine warm) it's now on .50

Full throttle (fast idle cam free) I get 4v.

I just re-did the entire timing chain assembly, sprockets, chains, tensioners, etc.

The engine drives smoothly, has power, etc. (Happy)

I wiggled all my vacuum pipes and found when wiggling this pipe, the revs start to chase.

As I know parts are hard to come here in South Africa, can i use a normal pipe here until such time I can find a replacement?????

Thanks, guys and girls

I suggest you put the pipe back in place and take a picture of it "in situ" so we can see where it fits or maybe tell us where the two ends connect to ...

I'm guessing it's emissions or idle speed control related rather than a coolant or fuel hose, but none of the parts catalogs I have access to show anything with that "bulge" in the middle.

It connects from under the IAC valve, comes up and connects onto the throttle body, if you pinch it with your fingers, the engine stalls, if you pinch it with your fingers and let go slowly, you hear it sucking air (vac pipe)

Will put back a few and take a pic

Thank you
