Just curious, what is the meaning of the designation LSI as related to Geo Trackers? Thanks

I don't know if you are going to find an exact answer to your question. LSI can mean a lot of things, but I think that, in the context of automobiles, it has to do with the electronic circuitry of various components. It actually stand for Large Scale Integration, and it is a computer chip that can hold between 100-5,000 circuit elements. Many cars from many different manufacturers have Lsi after the name of the car. I think this is what it means. (but could be wrong!)

Okay, I thought it might mean something like Limited Sport I_____(something), like SS = super sport or R/T = road & track.

LSI is just a trim level on the Tracker. There are the base, LSI and CL.
Probably more as well, maybe it means luxury sport interior..........

Hmm...limited sport interior sounds good. But if you google LSI nowhere does it mention that in any hit. Here are some: LSI: Definition from Answers.com
A lot of car manufacturers have an LSi model, but no one seems to says exactly what it means...

Try to google Tracker LSI, when I bought mine in 89 there were few options. In the tin top I got the cl interior, automatic but no power steering.

My LSi Model had power steering, A/C, trim on the outside, and better interior and such than my base model '95. Don't think a Geo Tracker EVER came with electric windows and locks... only Suzuki models.

Yeah was about to say, LSi has nothing to do with whether 4WD/2WD as far as I know... its just the trim level. Like SXE, SXT, and SRT (Doge Neon).

LSI is just a marketing gimmick. People get more for a designation and the rights to earn bragging rights by showing to everybody what model they have.

In the beginning they had a standard meaning, like S for Sport, SS Super Sport, GS for Grand Sport, L for Luxury, LT Luxury Touring or Limited, LE for Limited Edition, R for Racing, I for some that was Fuel Injected and so on.

So LSI could mean Luxury, Sport, Injected.

Now days is more kind of pointless since no manufacturer follows that protocol. One thing is true, the more letters and numbers the more comfort creatures and higher price tag.

I just saw a 96 tracker lsi soft top on a lot here. Of course after i buy my 97 i find a rust free 96 with less miles. Anyways, Its got split rear seat and factory cruise. That seemed to be the only difference between that and my 97 which just says tracker on it.

My LSi is a 93, 8v... removed the trim though. Has a split seat too... Also my LSi did not come stock with cup holders (had to seek that out!)

I just want power locks, nothing more. I'm fine with my roll down windows. Someone wants to throw soda out the window I get them up faster after I toss mine from the roof!
