I have a Suzuki Vitara from 2016, I bought it second-hand after 30k KM, now it's done 33k KM. I live in France.
The car's specifications are 1.6l engine, 5 gears Manual gearbox, AllGrip.

Some weird noises are coming from under the passenger side. I took it twice to the dealership, and they told me that there is nothing wrong with it. Which is true, the car is properly working as far as I can tell.

There are 2 noises however, I will try to describe them below:
The first is like a single metallic cable whip again the body panel that comes from under the passenger seat, followed almost always by what sounds like a coin rolling on a flat hard surface.

I recorded the noises using a smartphone laid just behind/below the passenger seat (inside the cabin):
Audio recording one : e1-1.mp4
Audio recording two : e1-2.mp4

The noises occur in many cases:
-After changing gears from 1st to 2nd, while accelerating after taking my foot off the clatch.
-Less frequently after changing gears from 2nd to 3rd.
-When briefly jamming the throttle.
-When braking hard, and less frequently when braking softly.
-When turning (sometimes even without changing gears or braking).
-Rarely when I slam the door, while the car is at rest (engine turned off)

One more thing, the noises come and go, once, there were absolutely no weird sounds for almost a month and then it came back after braking hard at a red light.

Please share with me any insights, if you have/had the same problem or have any ideas on how to diagnose the issue.

Slide the passenger seat fully forward and look under the seat from the rear. There is a flap in the carpet that covers the cross member on the floor pan. I've extracted all sorts of things from customers cars with noises in this area including pebbles, pencils and those little gas cylinders the kids like to inhale.
Items can be very difficult to extract and ultimately may require removal of the front seat and carpet.

Hi!

I am looking for a solution to my problem and found this forum. Unfortunately, the sounds placed here are no longer active and I can't listen to them, but maybe some of you know what kind of sound is appearing in my 2017 Suzuki Vitara?

It is a noise that occurs mainly when braking. Have any of you encountered something like this?

Sound here:

As I mentioned, the noise has been appearing for about 2 months while driving.
It seems to come from under the car - rather from the rear.
Most often when braking, regardless of the maneuver: before turning, when slowing down, before the crossing / traffic lights.
It doesn't happen every time. There is no rule in this, or any specific action on the part of the driver.
The noise occurs both with and without the use of air conditioning.

I was at the ASO, but they found nothing and they are not able to explain where this sound comes from. I also checked this place from photos, located under the passenger seat, but there's nothing there.

These 6 vibrating sounds that can be heard on the recording appeared during the 25-minute journey, on the 10 km route. I have the impression that this sound is starting to appear more often.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Impossible to say from the clip you’ve provided. I can clearly hear the indicator being used on at least 2 occasions and another car accelerating past an open window.

I don’t recall you mentioning the noise before. Was that in another post ?

The recording is made with a smartphone. 🤷‍♂️ You can hear it clearly at the times listed below.
The sound occurs when braking or turning (therefore a blinker is heard) or at a lower speed.

Very short vibration in 2 sec.
Longer vibration in 7-8 sec.
Longer vibration at 16-17
Shorter vibration in 20 sec.
Longer vibration at 27-28
Shorter vibration in 31 sec.

The sound is coming from under the car. It is definitely not a sound from somewhere inside the car. On another forum it was suggested to me that it might be the sound of something unscrewing itself. Someone had such a case in another car - it was one of the covers, or rather the socket of the spanner, which got stuck in the area of the car catalytic converter. I have no way to check it yet, but you think it's likely?

Check the heat shields for the exhaust system under the car. They are attached to the floor with 10mm plastic nuts, just nip them up a bit, be careful
they are plastic nuts. Had a similar noise to the one posted and this worked for me.

Great! my car was at the Suzuki agent this morning, got her back just now and guess what? They said that the heat shield was a bit loose and that some gravels were trapped between the shield and the car body! Back home, I found your message and you were right on the point! Thanks!
