he hello
i got a 2002 wagon r 1.3 special it seams that i have to repair the valve stem seals is it possible to do this without taking the cylinder head off and how many valves has this car thanks for help

number of valves will depend on model of engine, and no, its a head off job and requires specialist tools to undertake this work. Unless you have good mechanical ability and understanding of these engines don't attempt it.

How do you know you need seals? If the head is to the stage it needs seals and has not been off the car before, it may need other work as well, such as guides and seat resurfacing. This is a job best left to the professionals.

well thats bad news the problem is the car smokes blue when start up after 15 seconds its gone so i think it is something with the valve stem seals or maybe wrong oil manuel says 10w30 is standard maybe i thrie 10w40 maybe it will help or is this wrong great thanks for helping me

possibly is stem seals, but if its not using oil, leave well enough alone. 10W 30 is correct, using 10W40 will not do a lot to help.

check and clean the PCV valve as this can also cause issues.
