Turn signal problems

Hello to all,
I just purchased a 1986 Suzuki Samurai with what appears to be a 1997 sidekick/tracker 1.6L 16 valve engine 4x4. It's been fun getting to know the vehicle and for the most part it's running well. One issue I am having however is my turn signals.
All my other lights seem to be working fine but when I put on my right side turn signal the relay makes a terrible buzzing noise and my rear lights all turn on and one of my front lights turns on. I thought it may be a grounding issue so I cleaned the grounds but it is still happening.
Also when I drive and have my left turn signal on the flicker speed fluctuates as I put my foot on the brake pedal. At times both signals work but for the most part the right does not.

Any ideas or suggestions on how I should approach this task?

Thanks
K

Check your tail lights have the correct lamps fitted, first step.

single filament 21W turn signals, dual 21/5W for the stop /tail

I bet someone has put a dual filament one in a blinker and / or a single in a stop/ tail

What you are describing happening sounds exactly like a ground issue, but is commonly caused by the wrong lamps bring fitted.

Good to know, I'll have a look. The back lights are retrofitted lights that appear to be LED. Like the attached photo. The fronts look like they are the originals but they are both drivers side with one installed in reverse.

Do you think that this may be why the relay is making such a bad buzzing sound?

Thanks a lot for your help and suggestions.

Very well could be, leds apply minimal load to the flasher relay, which requires a specific load to work correctly

If you can hang a couple of 21W lamps in place of the leds for testing purposes that would help. Lord knows how they are wired internally and what mischief they could be causing
