I am new to the board but hoping to get some info...
I've been searching online all day looking for an answer to my question! I have a 94 Swift GA that is having some engine problems... I have only had it for about a month and it was running GREAT until my wife's uncle started messing around with it one night while we were out. Found out he torqued the head screws twice as much as they are supposed to be and now I'm leaking oil all over the place and the valve cover is messed up and he put the wrong belt on and I have belt pieces all over the alternator and it's just a huge mess!! (Some tune up he gave me).
So...I have found online that you can drop the 1.6SOHC engine from the Sidekick into the Swift with no problem and it just fits in like a glove!!
My question is can you put the GTI DOHC head on the 1.6? Will it fit? Anything you will need to change? I have seen the question asked but I have not seen it answered. I'm starting to think it'll be better for me to do this then try to fit my baby as it is...
Any advice/answers would be greatly appreciated! Also, how much do you think it'll cost for the whole thing? Thanks!! :beer:
