Hi Guys,

I've got Suzuki Swift that has recently developed a jerking problem when turning especially on roundabout or on low speed.
Sometimes when climbing uphill it jolts for a second and carries on.
I've taken it to garage and they couldn't replicate the problem. I've recently done wheel alignment and tracking on it as well hoping to fix the problem but all to no avail.

No engine management light ON at the moment. Scanned but no codes found.

Car is Suzuki swift 2010 Auto with 50,000miles on the clock.

Hello, George from Corinth Look, carefully check the engine mounts. especially the counter from below. I emphasize, the check should be done carefully, not casually... be well.

 

Thanks. Do you think engine mount is the culprit? I've not had it changed considering it's a low mileage car

 

If you have a CEL, there is a code in the system, you need a better scanner to investigate.. If you are using a base scanner or a code reader they are designed to primarily interogate the emissions, and not most of the other modules.

 

Thanks for your reply. I don't have CEL on it at the moment. Could it be a fuel problem? I've tried to use Injector Cleaner to see if there will be any difference.
Could it be that because i've been running e10 fuel on it?

 

Although you do not presently have a CEL, as one has appeared it will be secured in the ECU/module as a history code, worth your while to chase it..

Does your vehicle have 4x4 / AWD capability ?

 

I've checked with SNAP ON Scanner. I can confirm there is no history code whatsoever. I've also scanned the transmission as well with no luck.

No the vehicle doesnt have 4x4 AWD capability. Just a standard Suzuki swift M15A engine.
Could it be coil spring problems as well?

 

Without being there to see for myself, it is difficult to hone down on the cause, however having said that I would start with road contact (tires. tread pattern, pressure), then wheel bearings.

 

I forgot to add that it happens when i turn right. I haven't seen it happen when turning left.

 

Its possible its a strut mount issue

 

I'm wondering as you own the same engine M15A. Just wondering if you have dismantle the shocks and coil springs to install a strut in swifts?

 

Never had to replace mine, still original and still working fine
