Dave

The version you first uploaded is quite a bit smaller when zipped - if you do upload the full version, please post a link to it here, as I would appreciate a copy.

Thanks much
I actually uploaded the whole lot to the Esnips site within two weeks of my original post. Refer to the first and second post in this thread. ;)

(The above zipped figure however also includes all language versions of the manual- which haven't been uploaded to Esnips, only the English versions is on there.)

In that case, I have what I need - the English language version - thanks again.

This format really sucks. I was following the PITA download and found that:

99500-65D20-01E_vol2.pdf is damaged (or doesn't exist or else...)

and after the 52d10 folder esnips doesn't allow me to download any more files.

Just jumps to a stupid page that wants me to join. I did but it keeps redirecting me to that page when I try to download. I guess it wants me to download the executable file to the desktop etc. etc.

Isn't there a simple way? Isn't there a ZIP file somewhere else that perserves all the folders with the files in the right places? :(

I managed to download all the files... somehow.... :) but I can't navigate using top.pdf... oh boy. this really sucks. What could be wrong? If at least the acrobat showed the link it supposed to follow I could fix the folder/file naming.

ok I have everything working and this is just a quick post to help all the people that couldn't put it to work.

Go to the folder subdata Notice the file names there? They have % in it. That's rubbish.

i.e. one of the files should be ManualList(SQ)_1 and not the %28 %29 characters that are in the file name.

If my english is broken (as the file names) go to esnips site, look at the names of the files in the subdata folder and change your local names accordingly.

I alredy identified my specific model and from what I could see there's a file missing in the 99501_65D01_01E folder. I guess there should be a bookcover.pdf file there because there is a broken bookmark to that file inside SQ416_E.pdf.

But that is irrelevant. I just checked the files for my version. Maybe there is something missing for other GV versions.

Have fun repairing your GV and thanks to the topic owner for making this great info available.

You have to re-create the folder structure correctly - I have a folder called FSM which contains the top.pdf and a folder called "Data", and all of the other folders are in the "Data" folder - you need to also pay close attention to the dashes & underscores in the folder names.

With absolutly no disrespect to the efforts of others ;) but this has got to be one of the most painful downloads that I have ever experienced !

Followed instructions from top to bottom of this thread and nothing has worked. The data is there (I think), but the linkage from top to file is weak... at best. The Zip download appears broken (during the unzip, multiple messages about not being able to create a "path"). Sample of error:

! Cannot create Suzuki XL7\Data\99500_68D00_01E \Sq420wd.pdf
The system cannot find the path specified.

Well I love a challenge, I would rather turn wrenches then tweak file extensions

I do plenty of downloading... funny I even found a torrent download for a Russian XL7 manual .... might be easier to just learn to speak Russian?

Again.... no offence to those making the effort! Like they say, "there is no such thing as idiot proof.... there will always be a better idiot! "

Cheers

Did you try this?

Hello! Thanks for the manual Murcod!

I took the liberty of uploading it to megaupload. It's a little over 150MB zipped.

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

password: thanksmurc*d

When you download it, rename the folder to Suzuki XL7. Hope it helps!

This is a really great resource. Maybe one of the mod's can make it a sticky?
There's only so much people can do to try and help out. :)

Your other option is to pay the money and buy it off Ebay.

David,

Yup, used the zip download. Unzipping , something is wrong with file association (as noted in my post)... and yes I could just buy a manual ;)... or my online All Data.com ? mind you there is something nice about curling up with a good book?

If you could, please download your zipped manual from the link and test the "unzip". If you want I could give you the full list of suspect file associations?

Cheers

Martin

Just a bit of an update. Don't know if anybody else had trouble with the zip download missing some files but after running the unzip again I noted the missing files/information, found that the sub-directories where intact so I tracked down copies of the missing files from the initial source (the down load link at the top of this thread) and pasted them into the directories (I was bored and nothing else to do ;) a shizzam... It works!

Curious about one thing tho... what is a good source to acquire actual part numbers?

Thanks

Martin

If you're a torrent user - google Suzuki WWEPC - you should find a few hits that will get you a pirate copy of the WorldWide Electronics Parts Catalog - it'll probably be a couple of years out of date, but, still very usefull.
