Hey guys. Last year I bought my first car, a Suzuki Carry ST 90 High Roof from 1985 as a restoration vehicle. So far I made some progress as it is now running, driving and braking and I am starting to concentrate on the more cosmetic stuff. I realized, that neither the temp gauge nor the fuel gauge seem to be working. As they were quite old and crusty anyway, I changed the temp sensor and the fuel float gauge. This didn't change anything unfortunately, so I'm thinking It must be a problem on the electrical side of things.
I don't really understand how to read the wiring diagram though and even then I wouldn't really know where to begin. Did anybody ever have this problem with their ST 90?
Best
Carl

Welcome to the forum. While I don’t have a wiring diagram specific to your vehicle, it might be an idea to locate the connector for these components and check, with a multi meter, for 12v input and ground. Chances are that your issue with with the wiring, either not getting the battery voltage, or that the ground is an issue.

Assuming that diagram comes from the factory service manual, the "body electrical system" should also include a write up on the fuel gauge and how it works. Do the warning lights (oil pressure & charge) on the instrument panel come on when the ignition is switched on?

You can try connecting a sidelight bulb in place of the gauge sender (both fuel & temp gauges), if the gauges and wiring are intact you should see movement on the gauge needle after a few seconds.
