Can I fit an engine oil pressure gauge to my M16 A Suzuki engine.
IS it possible to use an adaptor that still allows the oil pressure switch to operate with the gauges sensor.
i am not sure where the oil pressure switch is located on this engine.Much appreciate a point in the right direction.

Yes, a gauge can be fitted, and a tee can be used so that the oil pressure light function is retained.

The oil pressure switch is under the exhaust manifold, remove the shielding & look past the manifold and the catalytic converter and you'll see it.

The port in the block is a 1/8" BSPT thread, I would suggest you not mount a tee directly to it, instead run a line, either copper with vibration relief loops, or braided stainless steel to a convenient location where the tee can be mounted to a body panel or crossmember and then feed the pressure switch from one port on the tee and the pressure gauge from the other.

I have not attempted to fit a gauge to the Vitara, but I've done it on several other Suzukis, if you mount the tee directly on the block, the brass fittings will fatigue and break because of the engine vibrations, rigidly mounting the tee on the bodywork prevents this, but the connecting line has to allow for engine movement or that will break.

Thank you Fordem for where to look with specific information and suggested hook up considerations. My gauge yet to be purchased will be an SAAS 52 mm electronic display with its electric sender that should screw into the T adaptor. The wiring from the sender i will make sure there is some slack in it to allow for engine movement vibration.

Don't put the T adapter on the engine. Remote mount it. Ill just about guarantee it will snap with the factory and aftermarket sensors on it. I remote mount them like Fordem does with a bit of stainless braided hose and I extend the factory wiring to get that sensor on the T attached to the firewall as well.
