You're wrong. The Li-ion battery only assists the internal combustion engine during acceleration. The Li-ion battery never starts the engine via the starter or ISG.
Watch the video to see how it works.
The Stop/Start function works even when the Li-ion battery is discharged.
Even cars without a hybrid drive and without a Li-ion battery have the Stop/Start function.

FYI, there are a number of high end scanners that have to option of turning OFF the S/S function..

I'd also be very interested. The methodology for many cars such as pre 2021 VW's is widely publicised but I've never seen anything relating to Suzuki. Please give examples of the high end scanners to which you are refering. It's usually done by getting into the adaptations menu and changing the stop / start voltage to an out of range value.

I can do it for my market area, yours may differ...
As forums go, this one is excellent. In the short time I've owned an Ignis, I've gleaned loads of information from the forum. Like some other forums, theres always someone who feeds miss-information and makes claims that are not substantiated. Usually the individual has never owned, seen or worked on an Ignis model in question yet is intent on a pretence. Why do you do it I wonder?

If you would like to cover the cost of my travel and accommodation to the UK, I would bring my scanner and substantiate, all depending on the market module configuration.. My UK passport is current.

You obviously do not understand the intricacies of suppliers making systems for particular world zones.. no ALL Ingis models are common around the globe (other than the Name), what may be available in one zone may not be in another.

@ingisszt

Just did some research, the Xtool D8W for the UK market has 27 special functions, the same tool for the N.American market has 38 special functions.. Hence my suggestion you contact your local supplier.

Seems the UK market will not support the function you were fussing about..

Now you’re starting to sound a little silly. Just redeem yourself by being open about the scanner that’s needed and the methodology you use to disable the stop / start.

I personally tried to attach a neodymium magnet to the sensor at the minus pole of the battery.
The sensor evaluates this as a low battery and disables Stop/Start.
But be careful - the battery is permanently charged with a voltage of 14.4 V and does not work with the help of a hybrid drive.

I attached ONE magnet a little smaller than that one in the picture in the same place, in my Celerio, and it made zero difference. The damn stop start still works

Have you tried attaching more? The idea here is that the magnetic field from the magnets prevents the sensor from detecting the current flow on the battery negative, if the magnets are too small, not enough, not strong enough, it may not work.

I also want to emphasize, anything you read on line, any modification, any "trickery", that you decide to try on your vehicle, you do so at your own risk, if it doesn't work, tough, if it causes damage, too bad, no one is telling you to do it, you're choosing to. Folks will share what worked for them, there's no guarantee it will work for you.

In my ignis if youre using the A/C the Start/Stop is automatically deactivated, so what I do now in winter is that I push the windscreen air button (it automatically turns the A/C on) and then after I push the A/C button to turn it off and thats it, every time it shows the message that the Start/Stop is not available even if you leave it at the minimun air flow, but please remember that is only when the windscreen air button is activated, if you turn the blower off then the Start/Stop will be then available. Greetings to everyone.

...so,... I mounted three tiny neodymium-magnets on that plastic thing at the minus-pol of the battery.
Start-Stop is gone!
No warning lights in the cockpit.
I drove now 100km and no side effects so far.

I put the magnet today on my ignis 2022. And problem is solved.

This start stop sistem is the worst 'improvement 'in modern cars technology.Thank You for very good advice.Regards from ignis owner in Croatia.
