I'm looking for the sliding switch that controls the A/C air
blower speed. Looked in A/C, heater, wiring, instrument panel,
and other sections but dont see it. Whats it called ?
Thanks

The switches are also noted for "separating" and not making proper contact - several people have use nylon tywraps (aka zip ties) to secure them rather than replace - there are a number of locating balls, try not to drop them.

Getting access to them can be a pain in the butt - the way I've done it is to remove the had unit & clock, remove the face of the switch assembly and then push it back into the dash and down so you can pull it out through the head unit opening.

Could be man ! hot air blows from all 4 settings on the switch but the light
on the A/C square button only comes on and A/C only trips in when the slider
switch is on max. I'm going to bed - will pull it apart on the week end.
Thanks

Yes - downward pressure on the slider knob causes it to make contact when its at any position.
Yes I'll dismantle it on a white towel.

There's a guy works in my office that has asked about two of my cars - one of which is a 2.0 GV similar to yours - my answer to him was - you can take the keys out of my cold dead hands.

Although I already have what I suspect will be the eventual replacement for my GV (the Jimny in my signature), I intend to keep the GV running for as long as I can source the parts..

Tested the blower resistor and the reading are close to the specs so I am assuming,
along with the sliding switch working off/on when its jiggled, that the resistor is not the problem..

But, I cannot remove the whole switch unit. Two face screws removed but there are tabs on the
sides of the unit so it can only move back ways, ie towards the front of the car.
Nothing is made to be repaired easily nowadays.

Well, there's a plastic flange all around the front that's part of the facia so
it cant be pushed forward through the opening and out through the Audio opening.
See photo. Removed a sticker- no sign of screws /fasteners/tabs.
Tried to force it, hoping it's held with double sided tape but it will bust with any more pressure.
Can feel the cables behind but they are not a problem - yet.
The one in your thumbnail Max, is out but still has the slider knobs
on it so it must have come out with the front panel/facia on it !
I have no idea what to try next.

I just forced it through the space with brute force leaving some blood on the upholstery.
Had to get off the switch while it was inside the back space as I could not get off the cables
to pull out the whole unit completely.
Switch is very simple - just needs cleaning. Thanks lots guys.
