Hi there,
After driving a Vauxhall Mokka AWD for the past 3 years i'm about to order a new 2016 Vitara SZ5 petrol AWD...
My current Mokka has a fairly dumb AWD system - there's no options or buttons to press - it's just front wheel drive until the front's start to slip and then it shunts 50% power to the rear, I see the Vitara AWD has several options you can choose - auto, snow/mud, sport and lock???
The auto is kind of self explanitory but how do the other options work??
If I select "snow" is that telling the car I am driving on snow/mud and it should be 4wd? If so then what is the point of lock? (I presume that "lock" just locks the car in 4wd?) or is that telling the car that it should be "aware" of the snow/mud in which case that's the same as auto then??
What does sport do? I've watched loads of youtube reviews and there was only 1 mention of "sport" with some reference to increased throttle response - not sure how true that is though?
All very confusing!
