BST Time change

Strange one for the UK owners.

The infotainment system on the 2018\19 model can be set so that the time synchronises to the GPS signal. All was well until the BST change on Sunday and I’m now an hour adrift.

I know GPS runs on UTC (same as GMT) and there’s an option to click within the clock setting to set daylight saving, but that’s not selectable when the GPS SYNCH is enabled.

Anyone else managed ?

P.S. the mechanical clock on the dash has to be set separately using the other settings ! Talk about convoluted.

Stuart,

Yes, I did that on mine but the time on the infotainment system was still showing GMT. I’d set it to use GPS time so was surprised that it hadn’t changed automatically.

If your infotainment screen is showing the correct time on the home screen, would you mind letting me have a snapshot of your settings please ? You’ve got my email address I think.

Cheers,

Rob.

interesting you say this Rob. They do DST times here too, but the firmware in my head unit still thinks its based on the old dates and changes all by itself 2 weeks later in spring and autumn. Looks like the system still knows when it changes, but not the most recent longer "summer" time dates we now have here.

Out of curiosity, I dipped back into the settings again today and it was more than happy to switch to GPS automatic mode and accept the DST setting.

The only thing I can think of is that I used the built in satnav earlier in the journey and the system therefore had a full GPS satellite lock, whereas I normally use Waze via the Apple CarPlay link.

Not sure if this problem has been answered. However the Info System setting under Clock in addition to "Clock setting mode - GPS" there is a tick box "summer time". Clicking this will add or subtract an hour. Frankly I would have expected the GPS system to do this automatically like my previous car's RDS. Before lock down we were planning a trip across Europe which would have really have tested the system methinks :)

Had a quick look today and mine is set to GPS time which should mean the daylight savings change is automatic, as it is with my Garmin standalone GPS.

Then I had a faint recollection that the GPS isn‘t actually initialised until you select the Navigation quadrant which I seem to remember fixed it last time. But by then, I was in bed !
