Hi guys I bought my first Suzuki swift last month and all was good up until a week ago. I have a smart key to get into the car. When I used to start the car I used to get the blue key light on the dash which allowed me to turn the ignition to start the car. However I'm now not getting the blue key light, instead I'm getting a red key light on the dash. I was however able to by pass this by pulling out the emergency key from the fob and start the car that way. Now that is not working now. When I insert the key the car cranks but doesn't start. Also noticed that after a few attempts of cranking the battery seems to die. So boosted the battery with a charger still cranks no start. Next I used instant start which I sprayed into the intake and eventually the car started but a lot of smoke was visible. After driving for a bit I turned the car off and then on again and behold the car wont start but cranks. The local mechanic said he's put a diagnostic tool on the car and its showing an immobiliser issue but is unable to get more information as the car wont start. The mechanic advised me to get the fob checked. I had an auto electrician look at the fob and he said that the fob and transponder chip within the emergency key are all fine. The auto electrician is saying that there is an issue with the immobiliser sensor.

Please can someone help/advise..

start with replacing the battery in a key, if I remember correctly its 2032. Suzuki's that I've owned from that era were losing ''sight'' of key when they were put in the middle console or under the radio.
If the battery dies when trying to crank the car it should have been replaced years ago. replace it or do more testing with the battery connected to charger to get stable voltage and enough juice.
the keyless entry sensor is in the boot, behind the plastic trim inside almost at the middle, it has brown connector. Check for water damage as it's possible to have a puddle where the spare wheel goes if the drain holes are clogged.

So I've had an auto electrician look at the key and everything seems fine as it's getting a signal. Had the car recovered to a garage and they struggled with it but eventually got it started but behold soon as you turn it off it won't start again. Mechanic has said fuel pump is fine aswell, also new car battery fitted. Just cranking but not starting. Mechanic said next inline would be to do a compression test..
