I've got some clunking/thumping noise coming from my rear left axle, I already replaced the rotor and bearings and it still hasn't gone away. Now Im thinking the cv joint needs to be replaced, but I'm having trouble finding the right part for a 2007 AWD manual hatchback. Every time I do a search I can only find front cv joints, I'm wondering if they fit the same or if it's just an extremely hard part to find? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

CV joints generally don't "clunk" & "thump", and neither do rotors & bearings, so maybe it's time to investigate rather than "throw parts" at it. The rear CV axles are very different to the front, which is something that is easily seen, if you took the time to actually look at them.

Wow okay, so do you actually give advice or just belittle people when they don't know how to fix their car? I'm not a mechanic, I can't afford to take this car to a mechanic, nor is the value of the car probably worth taking it a to a mechanic. I had the brakes seize up on me and then I replaced the calipers and rotors and the work fine again but now I have this thumping noise coming from the rear wheel that seized. Does that help at all?

I looked at your page and you seem to offer a lot of people a lot of good advice, I'd appreciate some input if you're not too busy huffing your own farts.

My first suggestion is that you not ask us to guess what's causing a noise that we haven't heard - make a video, host it on youtube and post a link.
Second is, think seriously about your financial situation, replacing hard to find parts that don't need to be replaced is like throwing money away -

Now - go back and look at your first post - does that mention the brakes seized? No, it doesn't - it says you had a noise, you replaced the rotors & bearings and the noise was still there - does it tell us that the noise started after/when the rotor & bearing were replaced? No, it doesn't, that information comes from the second post, which by the way says the calipers & rotors were replaced, no mention of bearings.

Details make a difference.

One last suggestion - if the noise is a continuous thump-thump-thump as the car moves (and not a clunk when you turn left or right or brake) - try swapping the rear wheels left~right and see if the noise follows the wheel.

So i took your advice and sure enough the thumping followed the wheel. When the brakes seized, there was a bunch of traffic and no place to pull over, so I just dropped it into first and forced it to drive about 50 feet into this church parking lot, with the tire squealing the whole time. So there's a fair amount of tread lost on just one side of the tire.
