2007 Swift Sport SRS/Airbag Light On, But No Faults When Scanned

Hello,

I have a 2007 Swift Sport (Model EZC31S with an M16A engine) that currently has the SRS/Airbag light on. I suspect this might have been triggered by low voltage, as the car sat unused and unstarted for about 5-6 months. The light wasn't on before this period, but it appeared after the car was jump-started.

When I first scanned for codes, there was a fault (unfortunately, I didn’t note the code before it was cleared). Even after clearing it, the SRS light remained on. Subsequent scans haven’t revealed any faults, but the light persists.

I also tried disconnecting the battery for six hours to reset the system or trigger the fault code again, but it didn’t help. I've also checked the basic items fuses, relay etc.

At this point, I’m running out of ideas and would rather not start replacing parts unnecessarily. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

  1. Disconnect the Battery – Before working on any airbag-related wiring, disconnect the battery to avoid accidental deployment.
  2. Remove Plastic Trims – Open the left pillar plastic trim and the rear left passenger plastic trim near the foot area.
  3. Disconnect All Plugs – Carefully disconnect all the plugs in the affected area.
  4. Straighten the Wiring – Ensure all twists and bends in the wires are straightened to improve connectivity.
  5. Reconnect the Plugs – Plug the wires back into place without reassembling the trims.
  6. Check the Airbag Light – Once the wiring is reconnected, check if the airbag warning light has turned off.
This method worked in my case, and it may work for you as well. However, exercise caution when handling airbag systems, as they are critical for vehicle safety.
