Lost the key and the immobiliser transponder to my Swift. I've got hold of a breaker's ignition assembly and key, and I have a few questions that someone may be able to help with.

1. The attached photo shows (arrowed) a small black plastic thing - is this the immobiliser 'receiver'?

2. If it is, then I need to bypass it. The way to do that might be to connect the two green wires in/out of it, but I'm not at all sure. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

3. If it's not the receiver for the immobiliser, where is it and how do I bypass it?

4. Then there are the two bolts holding the assembly to the steering column. On my breaker replacement, these show evidence of centrepunching, probably to get them to loosen for removal. Is this an OK way to get the old unit off, or is there some easier method?

That's the lot.....thanks in advance....regards Peter

Problems solved

The arrow points to a switch that senses the presence of the key on insertion, and beeps.....I didn't find the immobiliser, but I did find where it was diverting a couple of wires in the loom (near the lock assembly) and taking power also from the main supply to the ignition switch.....snip, snip, snip, fit two wires to re-connect the diverted wires, insulate the tap into the power, turn the key and....bingo, she runs fine, so I have immobilised the immobiliser
