If the light is flashing it is an indication that one or more of the sensors is not sending signal to the TPMS module, most likely caused by a dead battery inside one or more of the sensors. If the light is on steady then this is an indication of low tire pressure. There will be codes in the TPMS module to help diagnose this but someone will need to try and activate each sensor w/ an activation tool to determine which sensor is causing the problem.

 

Is this something that needs to be done at a dealership or can an activation tool be accquired and done at home? FIL is a mechanic so he does 99% of our car repairs.

 

The Suzuki SDT scan tool is utilized to access the TPMS module and enter the initialization menu. It will give the technician information, once the process is complete, as to what condition each sensor's battery is in. It will also allow him/her to see if there are any other problems with the system.

 

this was something my dealer did for free with a pressure check. should take less than 5 minutes.

 

any idear if its the schrader electronics valve fitted there known for the batterys going

 

Possibly. The batteries tend to go dead from lack of motion. Something in the sensor uses centrfugal force as a charging mechanism. But then again they are five years old now...

 

nope if its the ones made by schrader electronics they dont recharge they have a cr2032 watch type battery.
reason i kno is i used to work making the units and my partner still does

there starting to make a universal one soon to fit all cars and only have the one type for the whole range

 

What about Kizashi? They are 2014 spec sensors and require a higher frequency initialization tool.

 

not sure about that brand i kno siemans make some as well the schrader ones you put onto a plate plugged into the laptop to program them to the car they have different modles for the likes of gm crhysler etc

 

Tire Pressure Sensor Registration XL-7 2005

I have a few questions for Suzuki XL-7 2005.
1-Anybody know the steps for Tire Pressure Sensor Registration without Suzuki Scan Tool? or how to put Suzuki XL-7 2005 in "relearn mode" without Suzuki Scan Tool?
2-For registration: there are many TPM activation tools in the market. Anybody know if VT10 from Ateq; or Autel MaxiTPMS TS301; or Tips tool from ktool.com work with this car?

I have a 07 GV and a 08 GV.
I changed the tires/wheels from the 07 to the 08.
Now my TPMS light stays on.
The tire pressure is ok.
Do I have to go to the dealer to have this rest or is there something I can do ?
