Im not sure you can, once you have what is on the vehicle it seems thats it unless you purchase an up to date map, not sure on firmware unless that something they update on services. Not much help sorry.

 

Maybe try to ask your local dealer if they can tip you for the update.

 

No easy 'free' map upgrades are available (they are not part of the firmware) the cheapest easiest option is just buy a new map version SD card from eBay (I paid £22 for what is absolutely non genuine, but works perfectly).
To update, take old SD card out, put new SD card in - job complete.
