Automatic is reliable, parts are here, have to look for them.

What you DO NOT WANT is a vehicle too different from the normal one here.
NO limited addition vehicles as there are NO parts.

if you plan to go up in mountains here, you NEED a turbo, as the average mini cab is NOT a hill climber.
i have automatic for 4 years, no problems IF you change fluid every two years.

Things that make it limited addition,
power windows, -no parts
EFI, no parts and no repairman.
power door locks- no parts
ECM, steering, AT modules- no parts Repair is available for P6000 on module

They are good reliable transport, at low speed, good in heavy traffic.
The AC is minimum, not made for PI heat, can be worked around , read the many post.

Ison motors have good units, service after sale, take a trusted mechanic with you, and test drive, check all functions, and avoid Rosco!

Most upset buyers bought there.

CHECK THE LTO AND MAKE SURE THE REGISTRATION IS OK!!!

i don't really know my way around cars, still trying to research the terms used like EFI, ECM, PI,

- this limited edition, does it come with those features by default from japan or was it added when it got here because i saw this ad along echavez like they can install add-ons like aircon, power windows, sensors, locks, etc

- and also how will i know if it has turbo?

- can you tell me where ison motors is located?

im planning to go with the automatic minivan with only the basic features like aircon

usage will just be home to office and vice versa but of course it would be nice to have turbo as well

They are assembled from cut up vehicles from Japan, so what ever was there before, for the most part is still there. Options like power windows, and locks must be on original vehicle, They are to be avoided because when they stop working, where to get fixed, and parts? Door lock repair is P1500, for 1 door lock.

Turbo usually got two tail pipes, not many around.

ECM Electronic Control Module, It controls EVERYTHING on the car.
You cannot alter, adjust, or tamper with it in any way, even putting a meter on it can damage it. It is like a hard drive, so hands off!!! (much grief has been caused in Cebu by hack mechanics trying to "adjust" the things)

EFI, Electronic Fuel Injection, just like a diesel motor, it has no carburetor, and is very fuel efficient.

PI, duh! Philippine Islands! :lol:

what worries me is that i don't know any mechanic, esp those who specialize in automatic minivans

 

Greetings! Most any mechanic can change a AT.

I do not know of any in Cebu myself that can trouble shoot it and repair it, but somewhere there is one, I have heard of him, but only rumor. Change fluid when you buy it, then every two years, and that will take care of most all the problems. Suzuki built a good transmission.
Check that the cooling fan IS NOT RUNNING ON START OF A COLD MOTOR BEFORE YOU BUY IT. If it does, make them change it back the way it is supposed to be. Again, DO NOT LET ANY OF THEM TALK YOU INTO MAKING THE COOLING FAN RUN ALL THE TIME!!!!
It is only to run when engine heat require it to cool the radiator.
This is a chronic problem in Cebu with back yard mechanics in Cebu, and a sure sign of an armature and hack.

It is not to run all the time, it uses energy, and is not needed. If motor is too cool. t will waste gas, and gunk up your oil.

Newsavedone, Must agree with you once again, yes people please please keep your hands off ECM's if you don't know what you are doing. Please I beg of you.

I have spent almost 40yrs fixing cars. And most of that time was fixing other peoples mistakes.
Just so you know there seems to be plenty of used auto transmissions here in Davao if any one ever needs. I also have the computer scanning equipment. If you are ever in Davao stop by for a beer.
