Can you replicate the noise standing still and revving the engine? If so, maybe a power steering pump or other accessory with bearings going bad.

Auto trans I assume.

At speed, put the trans in neutral and idle the engine. Any noise then? If noise at this point, I'd suspect something other than engine or trans. Did you do the 1st recommended differential gear oil change at 7,500? :huh:

Yes I can hear it if I put it in neutral while driving slow with engine reved...not sure about if I let it idle while driving.
Yes auto tranny.
I had the gear oil changed at 6,000 and had the levels checked last service; it has 20,000 on it now.

Then I believe that you've narrowed it down to an engine accessory, or possibly a trans / torque converter issue.

Still under warranty? I'd have a dealer's mechanic take a listen.

 

Every 06-08 I've heard makes that slight whining sound when accelerating at low speeds. My girlfriend makes fun of it, bc it sounds more sissy than her Honda Fit.

You might just be right because my 08 just started doing it as well.

same here. my dealer want to charge $135 to look at it. if it is warranty stuff, refund the money. i think this is rip off.
