There should be and it should be actuated through its instrument panel circuitry. Expect a burnt-out bulb

It should be. If it's similar to my Daihatsu automatic gear selector, there should be retaining screws fastened onto the side of that console

Luckilly for us, Japanese manufacturers tend to share their parts from a limited amount of sources. That's why you can swap injectors and starter motor solenoids between brands. I'm therefore suspecting that yours and my automatic shifters will aslo share basic components, in order for Daihatsu and Suzuki to save on production costs.
Here's the one used in my Daihatsu. the difference being that mine is cable-operated. The lighting system should, however, be similar or even identical.
The arrows point to mounting fasteners which are to be unscrewed for bulb access. Simply removing the console cover should expose these fasteners:

Thanks Sal Siccia for your message and clear explanation (incl. example) It also seems to me that all these brands have a similar process of standardization. I looked at an Opel Agila, which has exactly the same model. And it does have lighting in the shift console. So, thanks for your info! 👍
