Hi Sir Malerikula.. I'd like to ask if you are able to generate a 4 digit pin code using the vin number?

Unit: Suzuki APV GLX 2015

It doesn't give the option to show a 20-digit ID code.

A decent Bi-directional scanner will have the capability of extracting the 4 digit code, I have used my XTool D8BT also my ThinkTool Pro..

Apparently all users in this thread have a dirty scanner.
I just bought a Thinkscan Plus S7, I thought it was enough for me to duplicate my keys :) Using a locksmith is pretty expensive, so I might end up getting a bi-directional scanner, or if I can rent one, much better..

I might buy the LAUNCH X431 CRP919E Elite OBD2 Scanner, hopefully, it can do what I need. I need to do some research first though.

The cost of the bidirectional scanner is 10x the cost to have a locksmith duplicate a key, so if you can use it 3 times, I believe it would justify buying the scanner.

Thank you @aquanaut20 and @Malerikula for your insights.

I find, contacting the scanner dealer first and inquiring as to whether the tool will perform the required task is recommended
