I'm just about to book my first service - but only on about 3.5k miles.

I'd agree almost totally with your analysis apart of course than mine's a manual with a very good shift quality! And the mild hybrid gives an extra umph! And short journeys mean only 50.3mpg (measured - the onboard computer is consistently 4.0-5.0mpg too optimistic).

The only real complaint I have is that getting Android Auto to work is very hit and miss - and usually miss - affair despite having a reasonably high end phone (S8). I usually don't bother to be honest since my music collection is plugged into the USB port.

 

I’d agree with all of that too and add that the manual gearbox has a beautifully smooth shift.

On longer journeys on mostly A roads I have achieved well over 70 mpg! Using the app ‘Road Trip HD’ the car has averaged 61mpg over a variety of driving conditions - very pleased with that!

 

Gloucester, I too was a little frustrated with the hit and miss AA. Until I discovered a process where it works 99% of the time. Heres what you do:
1. do not connect phone immediately on entering car
2. start up or turn on ignition
3, wait for aa to start on the phone
4. connect to car
5. should then come up on car display after a few seconds

See if it works for you

 

I spent about half an hour this morning trying various sequences for connection - I didn't get it once. Notifications were sounding through the car's speakers but the screen itself wouldn't connect.

EDIT a while later:

EVENTUALLY after a lot of fiddling including rebooting the phone(no difference), reinstalling Android Auto (no difference), and trying out three different leads (initially no difference) it suddenly started working. I don't know why.

But I still think it works a lot better on the phone screen in portrait mode than on the Ignis in landscape on the non-very-responsive touch screen that makes navigating in VLC for instance interminable. And voice control won't work with VLC.

 

Did you try my method and it didn't work?
