Was doing this at the weekend and thought id take some pictures and post a guide.

Door Card Removal

Front and Rear are the same except the front has an extra trim clip.

1: Remove the surround around the door handle (can be tricky)

2: Remove trim piece inside the grab handle (comes out easily) and remove the screw.

3: Front only - Push the trim clip in the middle with a punch etc, doesnt need much force. Closest to the front of the car

4: Get your fingers underneath the door card, theres a point on the front and back to do this around the bottom. Good tug and it will pop off, just work it around. It will lift off upwards. (Note how it clips onto the lip for the glass moleskin)

5: I found it easiest to physically turn the door card upside down to access the connectors. Some disconnect easily, others i used a screwdriver gently

Speaker Install

Remove old one, 3 screws and a connector;

You will need an adaptor i believe, i never tried without tbf.

I didnt have enough screws with the kit so had to resuse the old ones which wernt very long. Maybe order some more seperately? 3 for the adapter and 4 for the speaker.

Remove the green inserts

Install these which you get with the speakers, you can pinch / stick them to hold them in place or do one at a time

Install adaptor and speaker (dont forget to connect it). I got an adapter with the kit to convert the wiring with 2 tails for the speaker.

Details of the adapter;

Here is the kit i used: Speaker Link

Door Strap Repair

My doors would have little resistance holding them open and would often close, this isnt perfect but does make them better.

Remove from the door, 2 bolts on the inside, 1 onto the body. (warning - door will swing open without resistance)

So you will have this:

Bend the tabs out a little to separate

Take apart and clean then reinstall

Find something to jam in, i used a plant tag.

I put it all back together then pushed it in. The plastic tabs only go back one way, but can be upside down. You want the flat edge to the rubber

Put the top back on and reinstall and see how it is. Mine was better but not perfect

I did find a kit to repair these which i think would work. Here

Not sure whether these should be greased or not? Can someone clarify? Maybe some dry lubricant.

It's a sliding surface, I use a good "dry" pushbike chain lube on them and the hinges, it's a liquid that dries and doesnt attract dust.

Hard to say at the moment but seem OK.

I'm using them with an Xtrons head unit.

My problem is that I think the centre speaker in the dash is creating a tinny sound, I have adjusted the equalizer to compensate but need to find the sweet spot.

I'd like to disconnect the centre dash speaker if possible but don't really want to take the trim off.

I have enough bass to rattle the doors and windows after fitting a decent head unit.

With standard speakers?
Mine are bloody awful I have a decent head unit. (Too good for the car)
As soon as I turn up the volume it just distorts and becomes tinny.

The speakers just can’t take the headunit so I’m going to invest in some decent speakersI think.
although I might change the car soon as I have had it two years now.

my standard factory fitted ones don't go Tinny or rattle. Door windows do rattle tho. The 2013 has ok but not great factory speakers, the 2015 has excellent ones. Not pulling them out to see what they are, they work just fine.
