I have a 86 Sammy, the exhaust pipe just broke loose from the Catalytic converter. It broke right at the body of the converter so there is no pipe to attach a new exhaust pipe too. I can take it off and weld one on. The guys here all say that since there is no O2 sensor in front or behind the convertor, but only on the exhaust manifold, that when I drop the converter I should jut leave it off?

Anyone know if there would be any driveability issues if I leave the converter off?
