Hello people! I just upgraded the original suzuki radio in my 2009 Swift with a fancy Eonon UA12S Plus-6G android head unit. It's a fine unit, but wheel controls do not currently work

Before spending more money, I was wondering if the Swift 2009 model needs a canbus control interface in order to use the wheel controls.

I've seen some youtube videos about head unit installations in Swifts, and it's unclear to me if you need one or not. In the head unit canbus list suzuki is not present, so it ocurred to me I could ask to the good people here. Does anyone know under which ID the suzuki canbus works? If not, I guess I'll have to buy an interface.

I also know Connects2 sell one interface for my model, but I'm not sure if that is for some specific radio brands, or for all head units

Any help would be much appreciated!

They are from memory a resistance matrix button setup. You may need an interface module between your head unit and the 2 wires on the factory plug that go to the wheel.

Hi, this is an older post, but i have fitted a tablet style android head unit to a 2013 swift. Also to my 2023 S-Cross Booster jet. With both vehicles the steering wheel controls are analogue and not can bus. Just had to connect swc1 and swc2 leads on the head unit , to the relevant wires on the factory harness. ( key 1 ,Key 2 ). Then program the android learning swc. The supplier of the T'eyes brand android tablets said all suzuki cars had the same set-up and did not need canbus harness or decoder. This may help some one in the future.
