For Comparison and reference,

My 2008 2.4litre manual uses between 10 to 12 liters/100km around town. Changing gear around 3000rpm.

On the highway she runs around 8 to 9 liters/100km @ 100kph to 105kph.
If I drop back to 95kph I can get 7.5 liters/100km. Low Fuel light warning comes on with approximately 20 liters of fuel left in the tank.

I run 225/70r16 A/T tyres and a small car fridge. No items like a roof rack for wind drag to negate fuel economy.

Here are some fuel economy expected ranges of the 2.4 liter grand Vitara.

8 liters/100km = 825km
9 liters/100km = 733km
10 liters/100km = 660km
11 liters/100km = 600km
12 liters/100km = 550km
13 liters/100km = 507km
14 liters/100km = 470km

I did some medium duty offroading in low range and was using around 30 litres/100km and I was not in sand or mud.

Hi fellow.

From Angola, mostly city driving, Grand Vitara 2011, 2.4L auto, permanent AWD, AC 90% of the time, 66000km on the clock, been driving it for the last 10000km.

Average consumption 11.5L/100km (25mpg). When the traffic is heavy forcing 10-15km/h, the consumption rises to 12.7L/100Km (22mpg).

As not done yet open-road to see how will it improve.

Regards.

Sounds just like mine, expect about 10 litres per 100 km open road at 100 kph. At 90 kph, 9.5 is certainly achievable, aerodynamic these are not.
