My in-laws owned a Suzuki Dealer ship for a while and I can remember talking about doing this with the engine out of my wrecked 95 Swift and dropping it my sons Samuri. If I recall correctly, you will need to do some swapping of exhaust manifolds, modifying the engine mounts and being very careful with the engine wiring harness but it sounded possible. We never did the swap as my son kept freezing his toes in the 4x4 during our Canadian winters and sold it in the spring.
