Since buying a 2006 GV four years ago I am following this forum.
Lots of information but I never had and have problems with the car.
It is to me the most reliable car i ever have.
In the years I did improve the car because in the Netherlands we dont have mountains, so I customized him to more rallye-specs. driving in the free is not allowed for environmental reasons.
So i used the car only with events in the Netherlands and Belgium.
The GV. has now Suzuki Sport Suspension. 19"x8 ATS rims and Toyo 255x50x19 Proxes S/T 30m/m Eibach spacers
Strut and Tie-bars make a stable ride at speed but has limited wheel travel for Rock climbing.
I think the appearance of the GV is timeless, so its not a shame to drive a four year old car.
Now I'm thinking about a Suzuki Sports compressor or a Turbine-Tech turbo
to make complete excitement.
Anyway to me the GV seems a perfect Kit-car from shopping bag to Extreme.

the strut bar is from Suzuki Sport in Japan (competition parts)
They have lots of interesting parts for GV(Escudo). This company is from a manager of Suzuki, and is the man (Monster Tajima) who won several times Pikes Peak with a twin-turbo-charged GV. Escudo.
They also make the SpareTireless Kit and front-dam (see Semco's list)
But lots of competition parts, bushes, springs, suspension. You name it they have it. A subcompany from Suzuki sport is Monster Sport.
I have a Monster SA17 Power Air filter (oiled) and is far better than K&N system, No paper or cotton but a synthetic foam. Also a high pressure Radiator Cap for better cooling temp.
Other interesting parts is from Ultra Racing. Tie Bars, Sway- bars.
But better is to see their websites. Suzuki Sport Jpn. Monster Sports and Ultra Racing com.
By the way theres no oil-leak, its Tectyl anti- oxydation and waterproof.
In the Netherlands we are lucky, that we can buy on-line from Japan.
The transp. costs are payable because JAL Cargo has direct flight from Osaka or Tokyo to Schiphol airport. Delivery in four Days. No strange Export or Import-Taxes/Rates

The engine of the GV is capable to work at relative high revs for an 4x4. Its not an american guzler. In case of competition hill climbs ("dutch mountains") cross country and trials, what we do in events. Higher pressure prevents overheating and with a quicker sports thermostat the cooling starts in an earlier stadium in case of heavy loads, high revs in the long run. and even in heavy traffic and queues.
These are small parts (and more) which Suzuki in Japan offer, those make the GV also more reliable under heavy circumstances

With wheelspacers ET17. Without ET43.
Because of using adjustable suzuki Sport Suspension and Bump stops, theres
no contact anymore with the top of the rear fenders when driving fast over
bumpy roads. There is no contact with other spots in the fenders.
I had also cut the plastic front air-dam a bit left and ride to avoid rubbing
when cornering fast. Without wheelspacers of 30m/m theres no problem at all.
No other shocks, no bump stops. just the original suspension because the Sports suspension made a ride smooth and straight at speed.
By the way KONI FSD shocks are also very good.
See myrim.
