Good afternoon, while my daughter was driving the car she heard a pop at the ass end of the car. She stops and can't see anything wrong. Starts to driving back to the house and when she puts on the brakes she hears a scrubbing sound. Gets the car home I jack up the rear of the car and when I take off the passenger side rear drum off parts fall out. Are there any actual pictures of the rear brake setup not a diagram that I can look at? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and thank you.

You have to jack up the whole back end of the car to make sure both tires are off the ground, so you can move the axle flange around to get the springs and parts on the right way. It's a pain in the ass. I have a 2002 Chevy Tracker and I had to have my driver's side fixed around 4 times now. It falls apart and won't stay together for long. That year (2002) they seem to have used different parts from the year 2001 and the newer parts from 2002. It's hard to find parts. The pawl I bought on ebay is for the newer models and won't fit, so last time they fixed it they left it off.

Alrighty. I have the old style. This is on the passenger side. The adjusters on the bottom what holds it in in? This is the part on upper left hand side of old style. I see where it goes against the brake shoe and where the spring attaches. Does it just sit in there after the spring is attached? I do apologize for the questions it's been at least 40 years since I've done drum brakes.
