Hello Guys, just want to let you know you did it!!!
you spoke we listened..

Rampage Products Introduces: Replacement Plus, Samurai soft top with zip out windows.

We just received our first batch of Samurai Soft tops with ZIP OUT windows.

The top is available in Diamond Black (just like the new Jeeps) Material and tinted windows. I will try to post a list of retailers that will stock it. Meanwhile if you need one you can email me and I will suggest a retailer.

Thanks for all your input, we really do appreciate the Suzuki families/owners

Petroworks is offering this top now.

Wish it had a removable bikini top, like the old Sunport top. I'd buy one in spite of having a good top already.

Still awful tempted... May have to get one when the rains start coming back.

This time of year, I almost exclusively use the Breeze-O-Top mesh safari top.

I gave into temptation and got one of the Rampage 4-piece tops.

I love the zip out windows and the fact that they are tinted. The dark windows give more privacy to the cargo area which is very nice.

I feel like the material is a little heavier-duty than the Bestop material.

The stitching looks a little heavier-duty than the Bestop.

This top does not flap as much as the Bestop did, and so is quieter.

The fit is not as good as with the Bestop, and I have wrinkles in the top itself, and the windows, where the Bestop had none. This is after more than a week of having it installed, so it has had plenty of time to "iron itself out."

Where the top bow lined up with the cloth diagonal area that split the side windows, on the Bestop, the top bow does not line up and so is, under the window material, rather than the cloth portion, with the Rampage top.

The optical clarity of the windows is not as good as with the Bestop. This is not related to the tinting, but to imperfections in the window material itself. The material has tiny bumps in it. It is worse on the back window than the side windows. I was always very impressed by the optical clarity of the Bestop windows, which could be photographed through. These are more like what I expected plastic windows to be like, before I experienced the Bestop windows.

I love the idea of the velcro over the zippers, but the velcro does not stick very well and the fit is not good in some places as well, so there are places where the velcro wont stay stuck even when sitting still.

All in all, I would buy it again due to it's features, but I'd be willing to pay extra for better fit and better optical clarity.

I put my thumb thru the original white top last night! Took off the new Breeze-O-Top Safari for the tow down to the coast tomorrow so I'm shopping for tops! Bestop Factory outlet $215 and Rampage on Amazon for $170. So I gather for a good factory fit and clear windows Bestop is the way to go?

Thanks!

Ken T.

P.S. just looked on Ebay at a Smitty-built and several imports for 140 bucks. Anyone go the Ebay route?

Me too....

I officially started the look for a new top today as well.

Hardest decision so far is whether to go with a black or a white top for my WHITE Samurai.

I have it narrowed down to 6 different manufactures... all seem to have an advantage if it comes to price, durability, fit, clarity and so on.

I am sure the shopping will take a week or more until I make up my mind on which top to go with. So far I know I want tinted windows.

And I thought this was going to be easy. :D
