hello. yesterday I changed the plugs on my 2100 Sportback. interesting......firtst issue was removing the cover. how? there are no visible bolts. so, I assumed it was a pry-off. after 20 minutes of tugging, I finally decided to really give it a STRONG pry (with a 2x4), and up it popped. to complicate matters, my new spark plug socket was gripping stronger than the socket-to-extension attachment, so I had to invent a new system....which involved another socket and some tape. anyway, got them changed, and now the job was to re-attach the cover. I am "not a lightweight", but couldn't get it to attach, so I put some WD-40 on the ball/posts. still, no. I gave up. went downtown to get some help. opened the hood (motor now warm) and while showing the helper, easily pushed the cover back into position. MORAL: if you have a non-bolted engine cover, warm the motor before trying to either remove or re-install the cover! warm plastic is more pliable.
