I'm a new Tracker guy, proud owner of a 2000 Tracker 4-door 2.0L Auto with 4WD.

Don't have a lot of background in offroading, but I've taken the truck onto some roads where I feel some scraping underbody.

I went under the truck to see what needs protecting, and just wanted to get your thoughts.

Out of all these things, how would you rank what needs protection the most?

I've looked at some YouTube videos of fabricating skid plates and I'm not uncomfortable with it (have done woodwork but not metalwork), but is there a standard design that people with this gen of the Tracker like to do?

Thanks in advance!

The norm would be a skid plate under the engine (which will also protect the front differential), the transfer case & the fuel tank - you may notice the muffler has an "angled" plate welded to the front, that is typically enough to allow it to ride over obstacles that it might get hung up on.

Check Low Range Off Road, they carry the Aftermarket 4x4 line of products - look under "armor"
