I know everybody loves their Carry/Every, but there might be other
times when we feel "unhappy" about it, esp. when it involves cost,
repairs, leaks, overheat, dead engine, etc.

I'll start with mine. . .

1) Since it's surplus from Japan, we don't know how the 1st owner
used this vehicle. Did he constantly check the fluids (oil, coolant)?
Did he change oil accordingly? Did the engine overheat? Did he check
the extent of damage (cyl.head, gasket, etc.)? Did he drive to the
RPM limit? Did he abuse the engine? etc.

2) I noticed for a few times only that some people look up to a "car"
i mean a real car over our Carry/Every. They would greet you with
a smile if you ride an SUV or a new car, but with our Zuki, they're
not as "enthusiastic". Is there some form of vehicle discrimination???

...mainit kapag matagal ang byahe ko lalo na underneath the driverset ang engine at radiator.
...manipis ang body ng zuki, very dangerous during head to head collision.
...limited ang pansenger seat, lalo na sa pick-up na zuki's

tama ka diyan, I forgot to mention that one. maybe that's why the
newer versions have the protruding "nose" for additional safety.
(new Japanese regulation?). Plus no air bags, side impact beam,
that's why we should drive defensively, safely, for the sake of our
loved ones, our family.

Major issues with our zuks
1. Parts
2. Stability
3. Safety
4. Power

I guess we all learned to love our zuki vans.;)
There's no discrimination it just doesnt appeal
to most people as a chickmagnet ride like most van type
vehicles, well it depends how you dress up or
carry your zuk. Our zuks are for people who had
practicality in mind. It has the size of a car
but the cargo space of a van.

I'll have to admit I would prefer a new sedan or SUV
type of vehicle who doesn't, but I would rather have
a zuki than a bulky van or nothing at all hehe.

*Our mini vans are much more nicer to pimp
than our huge counter part vans.

What i don't like about my Zuki van is the heat coming from the engine. My Carry van is a front engine and it has no more insulation underneath the seats. I am saving for a good car insulation to minimize the heat.
  • 4 speed lang sya at wala kang mabiling turbo.
  • Hindi pa sya fuel injected.
  • Delikado sa frontal collision (Hindi ba pareho din lang sa L300?)
  • Stability at Cornering
  • Yes, meron din discrimination for small vehicles especially for those ill-mannered drivers who don't know the driving regulations and safety practices.
  • Alternator, mababa yung nakakabit na 45 amp
  • Aircon is not that cold.( maybe because of the missing insulation)
  • Electrical wiring lalo na kung 2nd hand.
Other than that I still love my Carry for it's simplicity, practicality, low maintenance, cargo space, fun to drive and it's two sliding door. Chick magnet? Pwede syang chick magnet depending on how you set-up your ride. Sa kin Kids magnet! Kids want to ride and touch my van. Akala nila Cartoon character or ride sa isang carnival. Buti high roof sya kung hindi naayat na ito! :)

The new 3 cyclinder VVti ng Suzuki with turbo ang nasa wish list ko.;)

my idea of like and not like is really ironic...

what I don't like about it, is that because its small
what I DO like about it, is also because its small... :D

Yes, "learned to love" is an understatement, hehehe

I agree with you, zuks are for "practical" people,
in layman's term "nagtitipid" hehe, just kidding, or better else,
making the most out of your money. It can accommodate same
or even more people than a car, but you can put more cargo on it
than a car.

Me too! Honestly, if I have more than enough money, I would
buy an SUV for my family & a sportscar or muscle car for myself.
But this is only a dream, LOL!

We all love our zukis, that includes all their imperfections & the joy
they give to our lives, nyaks!!

what i dont like about my suzuki is the rear end is too light and since it's a rear wheel drive you need to add weight to maximize the friction between the tires and the road.

and of course the safety issue. well, in japan, most of these zuks are used as light duty vehicles and some have never been to the city and have had a long life at the farm. that's why they're not street legal in the states. they're not allowed in major freeways.

another is the wide array of parts which you thought would match but does not. well, it's because they released so many models which dont have matching or compatible parts.

but specifically, i'd rather call this my wish list rather than what i dont like in my ride:

1. airconditioning
2. power steering
3. turbocharger/supercharger
4. HID lights
5. 17inch rims on ultra low profile rubbers
6. rear disc brakes (all discs ventilated type)
7. sparco bucket seats
8. driver and passenger airbags
9. and ultimately.....nitrous oxide!

pipz certainly i do agree with all the points u enumerated. however b4 we freak out..in my opinion, let us understand that most of these zuks are surplus. plus, how much do they worth? 120k? 150k?

for me i find it unfair to compare its performance and comfort to an suv costing at least 1M. or to a sedan with a price range of 800k - 1M. definitely these babies has more to offer than our poor zuks.

Hello cityboy! if you really love your carry you can also reply to a thread posted by Zukzuk entitled, "i like my carry because . . . "
There are also good points being said there. I started this thread to
basically know the common problems that I will have to face
"eventually" on my zuki.

Hey, I'm also from Cebu. Please join the other forum clubcarryPhil.
We already have a thread there about meeting in Cebu (Ayala).
The problem is when? hehehe. . .

See you there!!! (aron pwede ta ka Binisaya didto).

Have a good day!!!

The thread about "i love my carry because. . ." is in this forum.
You can move back to page two(2) since it's long been opened

yes bro i just tried now..inactive...
Tried it before lunch, it can still be accessed. You can still open the
topics you want esp. the one about mechanics in Cebu. Maybe
it's inactive in the sense that there's no new thread being posted
and no new replies too!

Anyway, you can check out some previous post which you find
usefull. You can refer to this link.

The activity in the CCP forum is slow as it is not yet known. But if we give it a chance to work i'm sure there will active participant soon. We don't maintain this site so it's convenient for us to just visit and go but in our local CCP, J-six volunteer to put a local website for us and we need a few more volunteers who are willing to maintain our website as we are short in manpower.

I am still trying to get familiar on the setting of CCP and I might do it this Holy week as I am busy with my Thesis.

By the way, when I found out about this Suzuki-forum we were like 3 or 5 actively exchanging our ideas and interest on our beloved Zuki ride. Then I tried to open a group at Yahoo and then J-six volunteer the website. Slowly but surely CCP is going to be establish. It might take time but I am sure it's nice to have a local forum.

Just keep on visiting and writing your ideas and interest at CCP.
