From what I understand, motorcycle carbs do better off-road on steep hills than Webers.

You might consider the MySide kits;
ZOR My-Side 1 and My-Side 2 Harley Davidson Side Draft Carb Installation Kits for Samurai - Engine Upgrade - 86-95 Samurai - Suzuki

Drive Train - PetroWorks

There is also a kit that will allow you to use 4 side-draft carbs from a GSX-R to get maximum power out of the engine. This what I would do if not for California smog, but I've been working on motorcycles for 20 years. Samurai Products, GSXR Products

Since I'm in California and don't like to swap back and forth at smog time, I'm limited to the stock carb or an engine swap.
