usb port replacement required on Suzuki Vitara 68 plate (UK)

Hi, looking for some help regarding a Suzuki Vitara. USB port is broken which connects the phone to the Car Play system which support both apple and android

I'm wondering if anybody can offer any guidance on how to replace this, and what is a sensible price for a new one.

The USB port clip in because the tongue on the car usb seems to have broken so it can't grip it to connect.

The car is a 68 plate
Apologies for the rubbish description, hopefully the attached image helps.

Hi Robbie and welcome aboard :)
This is an international forum - so you need to put year of manufacture on your post.
The UK number plate system means nothing to other nationalities.

Thanks for your response bvs. The year of manufacture is between September 2018 and March 2019. Hope this helps.

I can confirm that popping it out is easy thanks to this very helpful post and pics. I took mine out a week or so ago to remove a stuck cable. Replacements are about GBP 70 on eBay.

Actually that's the year of registration, not manufacture.

Thanks Mike (and bvs), we do get tired of having to point these things out.
Apologies, the year if manufacture according to the UK government website is 2018.

I managed to remove the cable before it mangled the port and haven’t replaced the iPhone cable but android is working just fine.

not so far .... but i was confident the cabling behind the port was good, i'd upped the SLDA to a stable / working build and had to go through 3 changes of phone cable (remains sensitive to the usba - usbc / whatever cable) - touch wood, these tend to do what i want them to (at least so far!)

the infortainment unit's also seemingly sensitive to leaving the phone cable plugged in Vs plugging it in each time you want to use it and unlpugging it when you've finished; plugging / unplugging seems to work consistently; leaving it in can give it a headache (at least in my experience)

The iPhone cable was fine left in situ - well up to the point that it got stuck of course. Still haven’t found why. There were a couple of dirty marks rather than scratches so I used some contact cleaner and it seemed to free it up until the cleaner dried and it jammed again. When I get the car back from the missus I’ll use a different cable.
