I’m having a hard time finding a TPS for my 01 Jimny. The car has been acting weird. When I’m driving I will get little bursts of energy then the car will hold back then burst then back again. Usually when I’m accelerating. Also going up hills, there is basically no power. I have to put it in 2 or L in order to make it up the hill. Granted its steep incline but the car should still make it up with less problems then I am getting.

I had someone look at it, and they said that it was the TPS and needed to be replaced. Does this sound correct?

I am also having a hard time finding the part. I’m going to have to order it online but all the sites I’m looking at doesn’t have it listed. Could I use a TPS from a different Suzuki model? Also to replace it, do you just basically plug it in and then adjust the throttle cable?

Thanks

Joseph

Try replacing the fuel filter. If that doesn't work then get hold of an OBD2 scan tool (preferably an ELM based device) or voltmeter and check the output from the TPS for smoothness. TPS is most probably a dealer only item and will be around £220 so you won't want to replace it if its not faulty. You may be able to pick up a secondhand one from a breakers.
Do you have the Check Engine Light on?

Hey,
No i dont have a check engine light on. The transmission light goes on and off. It usually happens when im having problems with the car. Im def doing to try changing the filter and checking the output to the TPS rather then jumping right into it and changing it.

Thanks for the help
