so for those who have or haven't seen my earlier posts, I recently bought a 1997 tracker 4x4 5 speed for $300 and the trade value of my nearly dead chevy van. I bought it under the impression that it needed a new clutch - replaced that. Then found out that the main problem was actually just the clutch cable. Fixed that last weekend and the tracker ran great this week until today when suddenly my clutch pedal broke, probably due to the stress of the old rusty cable. my pedal, however didn't break in the typical spot that most do at the point where the pedal attaches to the horizontal rod. it broke at the square end of the horizontal rod where the cable arm attaches.

You should check to make sure that this didn't happen because of your new cable, as opposed to your old one. The clutch cable exerts an enormous amount of pressure. If this is cable related, you should also check around the firewall where the cable goes through, for cracks.
