okay just posting to see if anyone has any easier solution for timing the xl7. replaced the tensioners on the timing chain and it jumped time. tried timing the car multiple times and came close a time or two but cant seem to get it right. the car doesnt crank. it sounds like it wants to but doesnt. If anyone has a easier method to get the timing right i would appreciate it.


Found the problem. The timing chains are stretched. Can't delete the post.

If you jumped time, best to do a leak down on the cylinders to verify valves are OK, do not spin the engine with started (no compression test)

First cylinder to show leakage, means heads have to come off..
