Hello!

I am new to this website as I recently purchased a 08 Grand Vitara. However, its not the first one. Back in November we picked up our first Suzuki, an 08 SX4 which has now been shipped over seas. Considering the exchange rate, USD v.s Euro, it didn’t pay to buy it there. The car is used by my parents who are retired and spend lots of time in Europe. It spent several months and several thousand miles here before it was shipped. Dad liked it so much, that he purchased another identical one to replace his aging Volkswagen here.

As for the cabin filter, it is my understanding that the European models are equipped with one, but the US models are not. The car (in Europe) will be taken to a dealer to investigate this. Does anyone know if the Euro cabin filter will fit the US model? I wish to install it and pick up another one, and the necessary hardware/mounting for the car which is here.

Thanks :)

all 08 models came with the cabin air filter, the 07's did not however.

if you open the glovebox, and press on each side of it, it should drop down, and behind that is a black pastic sqaure thing with some tabs on it. grab a hold of the tabs and pull it straight out. thats where the panel filter is. i have an 07 and dont have a filter, so i go in there every so often and pull all the junk out. last time i had 3 oak leaves in theres.

Thank you....:D

I read the owners manual over and over, but there is no info on the cabin filter... for either car. Guess I'll go home tonight and remove the glove box!
It better be in there...

There is an update for the earlier cars to replace a space holder for the A/C (Cabin) filter with a Cabin filter (same mounting) and install some vent guards under the cowl panels to prevent foreign material clogging the drain and causing water on the passenger floorboard or gurgle sounds in fan.

If you do not have a filter you can pull the plastic grate out and install one just like replacing the filter.

Fram Cabin Air filter Part Number??

Any chance someone has the Fram cabin air filter number? I looked on the web and could not find it. I was told by my dealer that my 08 SX-4 does have the AC cabin air filter. I would like to get a replacement.

You may have to buy it through the dealer as aftermarket companies may not have made one for it yet. Shouldn't be too expensive and you only need to replace them once a year or more.

part number

Jeff, Thanks for the reply. Well any chance you or someone else has the OEM part number? If I can get this then maybe I can find it here in San Diego. My dealer is about 45 miles away so dont go there unless I have warrenty work. So far no need to go back. ;)

If no one responds by Monday I'll check EPC at my dealer when I'm at work. I'm not sure if the Candaian and U.S. part #s would be the same, but I'd assume they are.
