Hi everyone,

My Mum has a 2008 Swift and the speedo stopped working last night. There's no movement of the needle at all, it just sits at the bottom. I've just been out for a quick drive and the odometer is still working (miles are still going up), the live MPG reading is still working and the EML is not on. This makes me think that the speed sensor is working and the fault lies with the instrument cluster.

Is there any way I can test the instrument cluster? I know on some cars you can enter a test mode, which forces all the needles to move up and down.

Are there any common faults with the instrument cluster? Is it likely to be an electrical or mechanical fault?

Any advice is appreciated :)
