That indicates a low battery, check the battery (load test), and make sure all connections (+/-) are clean and tight.

There does not seem to be a 2nd battery fitted the user can replace. You mention that the problem is intermittent. What is the vehicle doing when the display returns? It could be due to a poor connection or a component fault.
Have you tried operating trip and indicator control knobs to see if there are any changes to the faulty display?

Confirm the connection at the cluster is secure and free of corrosion, wiggle the connector and see if it changes the condition.

Check the owners handbook and make sure its not the key fob battery reminder icon if its a keyless start model.

Hi all. Thank you for the response! No luck yet. Sometimes the light doesn’t show at all and I get no display to show the petrol, which is worrying. If anyone is aware how to fix, that would be great! Suzuki want to charge £150 just to see it and tell me what’s wrong.

The bottom pic is indicative of a bad matrix connection between pc board and display lcd panel. May not be repairable, and could be new dash time.
