ok, so I accidentally push the wires over on a solenoid on the side of the intake manifold and they break off. Great... what was that part for again? What's it called? It's right under the thermostat on the side of the intake. Just above the alternator. I don't know why I can't find it in my manuals.

thanks for helping out a spaz-

edit... 87' samurai. 1.3L engine, and a hitachi carb.
that may help.

VSV (vacuum switching valve) for the idle up compensator. You'll find it in the emissions section of the FSM.

nope, this isn't the VSV. It's below the vsv on the side of the intake manifold. down by the temperature sender. Ill see if I can post a picture of it. It's kind of hard to see. under the hoses and wires...

OK, its a "thermal switch". Suzuki part #18212-82001. #35 in the emissions manual, diagram on page 5-2. Also figure 5-1-11, page 5-11. Tells the ECM what the coolant temp is. Who knows what happens after that.

oh ok! i'm pretty sure that's for the the over-heat cutoff. Apparently the circut is open by default, or I wouldn't be able to start the vehicle.
Thanks Azelgin. With those part numbers it was a breeze finding a replacement.
