Hey I drive a Automatic 2 door Suzuki Escudo 1997 (looks like a grand Vitara) it drives at normal speeds meaning (the speed i want it to get up to) on straight and down hill roads but driving up hill its terribly lazy rpm revs to shifting point but doesn't shift and stays at 20-25 mph depending on how inclined the hill is I believe it to be the speed sensor where is this located?

The VSS will either be in the transmission/transfer case or in the speedometer - find the rear drive shaft where it goes into the transmission/transfer case and look for either an electrical fitting or a speedometer cable - if you have a cable driven speedometer, the VSS is in the speedometer.

For what it's worth - in my opinion it's unlikely to be the VSS, if/when they fail the ECU will set a code.
